"Making Sense Of The Senses" or Sense and Sensibility or, Seeing Is Believing ...Done In Good Taste. With A Magic Touch, or, So I Hear!

  • $5.50

An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on the Five Senses.

From the earliest ages, children are fascinated with their senses. They gurgle sounds in echolaia, play visual finger plays, taste their toes, and stroke their favorite blanket. Great writers use all senses to describe scenes in novels. Scientists analyze experiments and conclusions by using their five senses, and perception is enhanced or altered by these primary means to measure the world around us. In this unit, students will become aware and will gain an appreciation for their five senses. Students will also develop empathy and understanding for individuals who do not have all five senses.
